A $200,000 North Carolina car accident settlement has been reached by the town of Pembroke and the family of an 18-year-old man who was killed in a wreck during a 2001 high speed chase. The family of Christopher Harris had filed a personal injury lawsuit against the town of Pembroke after their son was killed in

what they described as a reckless police pursuit following a minor fender bender more than five years ago. After it was determined that the involved officers violated a three-mile rule for police pursuits following a misdemeanor and did not use wise judgment in this situation, the town of Pembroke agreed to the settlement out-of-court.
