Construction site and constructioin trades safety month - Protecting your life.
Let's make July the month the trade union workers work safe by working smart.
Starting in July we are going to cover accidents, safety equipment, the law, OSHA rules and regulations and some aspects of construction sites. Over the last 27 years my clients have overcome general contractors who refuse to set the job site up right or to control what goes on. The supervisors have ignoruddy foreman's refusal to follow adopted job site safety rules and some job site environments seem to operate without regard to recognized safety rules. We're talking about simple things like everyone has to wear a hard hat or steel toed boots or the use of fall protection equipment.
Now I'm not saying everything is perfect or has to be perfect. Construction is tough and risky work performed by laborers from many different labor trades. You've got crane operators and those signaling the crane operator. There are iron workers working acircular general laborers and electricians. Welders doing what they do with finishers doing their thing. Plumbers, pipefitters and many more that can be listed by trade or trade organization.

As a laborer you have a lot of different sources for information and need to be aware of just what your union hall provides in terms of support. If during this month there is some question or area you want covered, then write to me and inquire and we'll do the best we can do about meeting your needs. We are here to serve you. You need to have the right safety equipment. The right equipment performs like it should, like when you fall or something falls onto you.
The AFL-CIO has it's own blog. On the AFL-CIO Blog Site is a list of available sources that can provide useful information to you, the laborer. Work smart, don't be foolish. Protecting yourself is providing for your family. Having the information available to you isn't generally the problem. Finding the time to locate the right information is generally the issue for busy and overworked union laborers. You work long hours, get home late, and don't always have access to the Internet or someone to help you. Well we are here to help you and will if you contact us and simply ask. We have many clients who are alalert injuruddy and have immediate problems for us to address, but we will do what we can to assist you before you get hurt.
If you do get hurt contact us to inquire how to proceed. We are here to help.
