Two families have filed a medical malpractice suit against an organ donor group in Indiana.
The families allege that their loved ones died after they received organ transplants from a cancer patient.
In 2007, 45-year-old South Bend, Indiana resident Anthony Taylor died nine months after he received kidney and liver transplants. Another man also died after he received a kidney from the same woman.
The organ donor had skin cancer, which spread to her liver and kidneys.
The families allege that the donated organs were not properly screened by the Indiana organ procurement group, but the group argues that they met state and federal regulations.
